UK GOVERNMENT URGED TO TAKE IMMEDIATE ACTION AS BREXIT TOURING PLANS REJECTED BY EU

The UK Government is being urged to take immediate action after Brexit touring plans were rejected by the EU.
It had been hoped the final UK-EU Withdrawal Agreement, which was reached on Christmas Eve 2020 (just days before new regulations came into place on 1st January 2021), would include special consideration for touring professionals — including free, longterm working travel arrangements for artists and crew. Without such a framework in place, costs involved in UK artists playing Europe, and vice versa, risk becoming prohibitive for many, with emerging and rising talent and grass roots organisations expected to be hit particularly hard.
HONG KONG PARTY CREW YETI OUT LAUNCHES BELOW GROUND, A RETAIL STORE, RADIO STATION AND STUDIO

Multi-disciplinary collective Yeti Out has opened a shop in Hong Kong that will house its new radio platform and upcoming events. Below Ground, located in a Downtown basement, is outfitted with hand-made speakers by Devon Turnbull of OJAS and features a rotating line-up of luxury fashion and streetwear brands. Once pandemic-related restrictions ease, Below Ground plans to host production workshops, recording sessions and DJ classes with the aim of growing Hong Kong's music and art community, Yeti Out told Resident Advisor.

Richie Hawtin finally releases his highly-regarded 1996 CONCEPT 1 series as a digital package on January 1st, 2021 - 25 years to the day of its original release. In line with Hawtin’s continued commitment to supporting independent music it will be available only via Bandcamp for one month. For the first time since its original release in 1996, Richie Hawtin’s CONCEPT 1 series will be available in it’s entirety as a digital release distributed initially only through Bandcamp. The entire series will now be available via ‘Concept 1 1996’ as both individual tracks and a complete package, with the latter unlocking an additional exclusive bonus track.
